You need to soak it in water for 2-3 hours and then there's, some roasting, but I'm, making an instant recipe. I hope you'll, like this quicker version. So would you like to make moong dal halwa lets get started to make the halwa you & # 39? Ll need ( ingredients in description box ) you can take raisins as well.
Was the moong dal really well first strain the water now heat a pan and dry roast the dal on low to medium heat till it becomes golden brown after roasting for about 2 minutes, switch off the flame and let the dal cool down.
So you can grind it in the mixer, make a fine powder of it. Now add 1 tablespoon of desi ghee and roast the dry fruits. Take them out as soon as they change a little colour in the same pan. Add the remaining desi ghee as soon as that gets hot, add the roasted dal powder and stir/roast again for 1-2 minutes don't cook it too much, as we already have before cook it on low to medium heat, now crush some green cardamom.
A little bit in a separate pan, add sugar and water and let it boil add the crushed green cardamom. Let the sugar syrup boil till the sugar in it melts completely now keep aside saffron strands in 2. Tablespoons of warm milk.
Now slowly add some milk into the halwa and stir continuously. So you don't, find any lumps now add in the saffron milk. Let the whole thing boil stir it continuously. When the dal absorbs the milk entirely, add your sugar syrup and mix.
It add roasted or crushed dry fruits mix well and let it boil cook it on a low to medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Till this time the halwa absorbs the sugar syrup. When the halwa starts letting go of the ghee from the sides, it means its ready.
